WBHS - 1 Salem HS - 0

For the first home game of the 2010 season, the Bruins hosted the Sun Devils of Salem High School. The Bruins came out storming with two quick scoring opportunities in the early going. Near misses appeared to be the order of the day with the Sun Devils unable to score in spite of several opportunities with the ball loose in the box. Brett Woodward's shot from distance bounced off the left post and the score remained 0-0 late into the second half. In the 71st minute Brett Woodward sent the ball wide to Brett Martin streaking up the right side. Martin crossed the ball across the box. The Salem keeper was able to just get a finger on the ball but it was not enough as the ball continued across the box. Cole Corrigan sent the ball into the back of the net for the first score of the game. Bruins - 1 Sun Devils - 0.
The Sun Devils mounted a furious attack on the Bruins goal but the Bruin defense knocked away every Sun Devil effort. Full time and the Bruins chalk up their first win of the year, 1-0.
